Koh Yao Village (Essentially the capital of Koh Yao Noi) received a low level of education until recently.

According to the Koh Yao Children Community Centre, there are now several primary schools and two high schools available to the residents of Koy Yao Noi. In total, about 1,200 students are enrolled in school and speak the Southern dialect of the Thai language. English is taught to students from year one.

As a foreigner if you wish to there may be the option of teaching english as a foreign language to the local Thais who are desperate to learn so they can take advantage of the jobs offered in the Koh Yao Resorts and Hotels.
