Religion

Buddhism is the prevalent religion in Thailand, however the vast majority of inhabitants in Kho Yao are, in fact, Muslim. There are some estimates that suggest that up to 95 per cent of the population in Koh Yao Noi are Muslim. There are several mosques in Kho Yao, and the lack of loud, alcohol infused nightlife is apparent.

This does allow for a quiet life in any one of the Kho Yao Island resorts. The other five percent of inhabitants of Kho Yao Noi are Buddhist.
